West Georgia Ukulele Ensemble (Peggy Killian, founder) and Uke Republic ( a ukuleles only store located above the Sweetwater Valley Library on the 2nd floor) have donated ukuleles to the Sweetwater Valley Library, 5000 Powder Springs Rd. , where Peggy holds her play-alongs and free uke lessons.
Most Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m , free lessons at 12:30
Sweetwater Valley Library, 5000 Austell-Powder Springs Road, Suite 100, Austell, GA 30106 in Cobb County
Also, thanks to the wonderful and thoughtful donation of 17 Kala ukuleles by a fellow ukulele musician and friend, who wishes to remain anonymous and through the not-for-profit, The Gift of Music, a “Thrift Store for Musicians”, (giftofmusic.org), located in Marietta near the Civic Center , there are now even more libraries in Cobb County where you can check out ukuleles and join ukulele groups via the Sensational Marietta Ukulele Group (SMUG) network at these locations below, where John Thomas (JT) leads strum-alongs of requested songs with chord sheets projected on-screen.
